Happy Fall Ya’ll! We hope you have been enjoying the cooler weather. We know that the fall and winter is a busy time for everyone and Ashe CrossFit wanted to make sure that everyone was up to date.
Kids Classes: The last day of our 6-week Back to Basics Course is October 24th. Our next 6-week course will begin November 5th and end December 12th. The focus for this course will be on mobility, stability, and body awareness. Time to dive deeper into some gymnastics!
30 Minutes to Fit: We are so excited to have this class up and going! This is an 8-week program and will run thru December 5th. Come check it out!
November 16th: The PARADE! This year Ashe CrossFit will be in the parade and we hope that everyone will come out and participate. The gym will be only Open Gym that day.
November 27th: close after kid’s classes (5:15pm)
November 28th-29th: Closed
December 24th-25th: Closed
December 26th: Open Gym 9-1pm
December 31st: Close after Kids Classes (5:15pm)
January 1st: Open starting at 11am
Fun FALL Fact:
Weight gain around this time of year may not be from all the food (though we tend to eat plenty of it).
Researchers have found that lack of Vitamin D reduces fat breakdown and triggers fat storage. So, on those “warmer” and “sunnier” days head outside for a walk.
Seasonal Recipe: PUMPKIN CHILI
What You Need:
1 cup chopped onions
8 cloves of garlic
2 lbs. ground turkey
2 cups fire roasted tomatoes
2 cups canned pumpkin puree
1 cup chicken broth
2 tbsp. raw honey
4 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Sauté your onions and garlic in extra virgin olive oil for about 5 minutes. Add your ground turkey to the mix, breaking it up as it cooks. After your turkey has cooked add the remaining ingredients.
Let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Add more chicken broth if desired and ENJOY!
